Professional Consultation

You want to help your neurodivergent clients, but sometimes you feel like you're working without a roadmap. Maybe you're questioning whether your approach is truly affirming, wondering if you're missing something important about autism or ADHD, or feeling uncertain about how to adapt traditional therapy models for brains that work differently.

You're not alone. Many mental health professionals were trained within frameworks that pathologized neurodivergence rather than understanding it. This can leave even experienced therapists feeling underprepared when working with autistic and ADHD adults—especially when it comes to recognizing masking, differentiating trauma from neurodivergence, or knowing how to support late-diagnosed clients who are processing years of misunderstanding.

Supporting neurodivergent clients effectively requires more than clinical training—it requires a fundamental shift in perspective.

My Approach to Consultation

My consultation services are designed for therapists, coaches, educators, and other professionals who want to move beyond surface-level accommodations toward truly affirming practice. As a late-diagnosed, autistic and ADHD (AuDHD) therapist, I bring both clinical expertise and lived experience to help you understand neurodivergence from the inside out.

This isn't about learning a new technique or checking a diversity box. It's about developing the nuanced understanding that allows you to see your neurodivergent clients clearly, work with their strengths authentically, and provide care that feels genuinely supportive rather than subtly pathologizing.

Together, we'll examine your cases, explore treatment approaches, and navigate the challenges of working within systems that don't always recognize or support neurodivergent needs. The goal is to equip you with both practical strategies and the deeper perspective shifts that make your work truly affirming.

Who Consultation Is For

New clinicians learning to work with neurodivergent populations for the first time

Experienced therapists wanting to deepen their neurodiversity-affirming approach and unlearn pathologizing assumptions

Professionals supporting late-diagnosed adults navigating the complex intersection of trauma, masking, and identity

Clinicians working with complex cases where neurodivergence overlaps with other conditions like anxiety, depression, or trauma

Organizations and teams seeking to create more inclusive services and training

Anyone feeling stuck with a particular client or unsure how to adapt evidence-based approaches for neurodivergent brains

What We'll Work On Together

Case Consultation

"I have a client who... and I'm not sure how to help them"

We'll review specific cases (with confidentiality protected), exploring diagnostic considerations, treatment planning, and how to adapt your approach. Whether you're wondering about differential diagnosis, struggling with therapeutic engagement, or seeking guidance on complex presentations, case consultation provides targeted support for your most challenging questions.

Practice Development

"I want to build a truly neurodiversity-affirming practice"

From intake processes that don't pathologize to therapy approaches that honor neurodivergent strengths, we'll examine how to create an environment where autistic and ADHD clients can show up authentically. This includes everything from office policies to therapeutic language to understanding the impact of your own assumptions.

Professional Growth

"I want to understand neurodivergence more deeply"

We'll explore the lived experience of autism and ADHD, examine how masking and trauma intersect, and develop your ability to recognize neurodivergent presentations that are often missed. This deeper understanding transforms not just your techniques, but your entire therapeutic relationship.

Organizational Training

"Our team needs to better support neurodivergent clients"

Whether you're a clinic, school, or organization, I can help your team develop policies, practices, and perspectives that truly serve neurodivergent individuals. This includes staff training, protocol development, and creating systemic changes that support both clients and staff.

What Changes You Can Expect

Professionals working with me often experience:

Increased confidence in supporting autistic and ADHD clients without second-guessing every intervention

Clearer diagnostic thinking when differentiating neurodivergence from other conditions or understanding complex presentations

More authentic therapeutic relationships as you learn to work with rather than against neurodivergent ways of being

Practical strategies you can immediately implement, from session structure to communication style to treatment planning

Deeper self-awareness about your own assumptions and how they impact your clinical work

Enhanced ethical practice aligned with truly affirming, strengths-based care
